This item is really beautiful. Unfortunately, after ordering the same item twice, and having both of them arrive damaged due to a problem during the manufacturing process, I chose not to try for a third time. The first one arrived warped with a large (14') crack in the gold leaf paint. The second one arrived warped. Due to the warping, it was not possible to hang either of them on my wall. I believe the item is not fully "cured" before it is removed from the mold. As a result, it continues to dry and warps.

The moon couldn’t have created surfaces as winsome as those on our Splotch series of decorative mirrors and wall art, which includes the Splotch rectangular gold wall art. Rather than molten metal creating the craters that flow along with the tile, the decorative accent is made of composite in a gold leaf finish. We have a number of wall tiles in varying sizes and finishes in this family of accessories and we offer decorative mirrors in silver and gold. Each of these reflects the ethos that Phillips Collection personifies: modern organic.

The gold leaf finish applied to our products is known for its luxurious metallic appearance. However, this finish can be susceptible to scratching if not handled carefully. Gold leaf is a delicate material; abrasions may occur during routine use or contact with abrasive surfaces. To maintain the pristine condition of your gold leaf-finished items, we strongly recommend using coasters or protective pads when placing objects on the surface. These coasters act as a safeguard, minimizing the risk of scratches and preserving the beauty of the gold leaf finish. While we strive to provide durable and high-quality finishes, it's important to acknowledge that any abrasive or sharp objects in contact with the surface may lead to unintentional damage. Therefore, please be careful and follow proper care guidelines to ensure the longevity of your gold leaf-finished products.
