Erosion is a fascinating process in which wood and stone are broken down over time and relocated by the invisible hand of mother nature herself. When the wood begins to erode, it can develop into unbelievably captivating shapes that defy imagination. Phillips Collection’s erosion sculpture on the stand is a recreation of this natural phenomenon that demonstrates the unique forms wood can take when introduced to the elements. Constructed from teak wood in a bleached finish, the erosion sculpture is mounted to a matte black iron stand that gives this piece a splash of modern flair.
