Hand-woven from natural grasses and ilala palm by Tonga artisans of the Zambezi region, this deep open basket bowl rises into a rounded form with an open flared rim and subtle tonal banding. Baskets like these were traditionally woven to carry and store produce; their lively, rhythmic shapes lend the "dancing basket" its name. Set it on a console, shelf, or floor to hold throws, fruit, or smaller baskets, or leave it empty as a sculptural piece. Due to the handmade nature of these baskets, slight variations in color, size, and pattern may occur, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind. Available in a range of sizes, from a small tabletop bowl to a large floor basket. We work directly with the small artisan communities who weave them — fair-trade terms and fair wages — from materials that are ethically and sustainably sourced.
