Walthamstow, an area of great significance to William Morris, is an adaptation of an artwork for a carpet held at The Huntington. Its vertical border, sketched initially in graphite, contains stylized honeysuckles, which the design team has incorporated into this beautifully translated pattern. Mirroring the typical 19th-century style, honeysuckles, daisies, and acanthus leaves all swirl together in a striking repeat, edged by a checkerboard border. The fabric has been flat-bed screen printed in our UK factory, a process that honors traditional craft skills. This technique allows for rich ink penetration into the natural fibers, resulting in a fabric with authentic marks and deep, artisanal color.
