Artist Commentary: **This painting was juried in to the Central Massachusetts Pastel Societies International Show "Marks of Distinction."** Imagine laying in a hammock, with a beverage in one hand and a great book in the other and looking up and seeing this gorgeous, billowing cloud passing by. Just thinking about that scene puts me on Cloud Nine. Clouds are water vapor and, as such, they move and change shape constantly. And, they are also not pure white! Study them and you will see greens and mauves, pinks and peaches, blues and purples, yellows and grays. Whether I'm painting them or observing them I find myself on Cloud Nine.
