This temple jar from Legend of Asia sets a procession of playful children across the clean field of a white jar, a narrative scene painted with far more character than a repeating border. The bright field keeps the piece feeling light, and the figures read clearly from across a room. With its domed lid in place, the decorative jar has the scale to command a mantel, a hall chest or the top shelf of a tall bookcase. Hand shaped and hand painted in southern China, then fired at high heat, the porcelain jar is dense and glassy, water proof and weather proof for a covered porch. Use the lidded jar as a ginger jar for keepsakes, as mantel decor beside framed art, or as a generous gift for a growing family, and it settles into chinoiserie decor and asian decor alike.
