This clock was to replace a gorgeous clock which had been a wedding present from my inlaws. We wanted to replace the old clock with something special. This clock arrived and it did not work. The pendulum did not swing; it chimed 12 minutes before the hour. Nothing worked properly. Terrible disappointment. Would not buy another Henderson clock.

Wow, what a great purchase! This clock is really well made of solid wood, is silent except for the chimes, and (contrary to some other reviewers comments) has a volume control for exact control of the chime volume. The quartz movement means never having to wind it. It can be set to automatically turn off at the same time every day for an 8 hour period (if you want it to). Everyone that sees this clock comments on how good it looks, even if you examine it really closely. The mounting bracket has indentation for two anchor screws (one on top and one on bottom) to prevent the clock from shifting on the wall from the weight of the clock door opening (because the clock unit and pendulum are mounted on the door rather than inside the clock). I'm really pleased with this purchase.

Very nice clock. I've had it for a around 3 years with no problems. Looks nice on the wall in my office. It's not very deep and fits streamline on the wall without sticking out too much in the space. Chimes are nice but I don't use them because of noise while I'm working.

The Howard Miller Henderson Chiming Quartz Wall Clock is a perfect clock if you are looking for a smaller Howard Miller wall clock. The chimes sound just as good as if you purchased a winding clock. We purchased this clock for our lake house which is why we choose to go with quartz over winding. It takes 2 C batteries which make the clock door heavy when opening. This sometimes can slightly tip the clock if you don't hold the base in place while opening. We have replaced the batteries once in a years time. It also has a night time feature to turn off the chiming at night. The clock has so much detail and looks even better in person. I loved the color of this clock because it gives off a burl wood finish. This clock is definitely a keeper and worth the cost!
