The design of the clock is what you’re paying for, certainly not the quality. For almost 400, the wood is advertised as being solid but feels very synthetic and light like cheap, manufactured wood. There’s no problem with manufactured woods they’re a great, economical, and lightweight option for a lot of furniture applications. For a 400 wall clock, I was expecting something sturdy and of higher quality. The final note is more nitpicky but worth mentioning -the company positions themselves as a century-old, family-owned affair but their products are very obviously mass manufactured complete with the “Made in China” stamp on the back. Maybe don’t go for the mom and pop angle if you’re going mass manufactured synthetics with overseas labor.
