I really don't recommend Howard Miller clocks because of their cheap quality and poor customer service. The clock arrived broken. When I called the customer service they said to use Duracell battery only. For the price of this clock it should work with any AA batteries! If it only works with specific brand of batteries they should note that in product description. We changed the batteries to Duracell but the clock didn't move a single second either.
