The Hanya Sculpture is a ribbon of shimmering impasto surfaces that trace a beautiful line. The sculpture takes inspiration from early 20th-century Futurism. This avant-garde art movement had boundless faith in revolution and progress in part because it developed largely outside of traditional art capitals. Futurism celebrated speed, technology, and modernity in plastic arts. The Hanya statue floats weightlessly in a painstakingly devised choreography of space.
