Assembly pegs and holes misaligned

This clock took my breath away when I opened the box...unlike so many things these days it's made of solid wood (I haven't wound it yet...as it's a Christmas gift to myself...have to wait). The craftsmanship is old-world and the heft bespeaks its quality. What a great price to boot. I'm an antiques lover but wanted to invest in a newer clock as it's so expensive getting old clocks tuned and/or fixed. This clock fits right in to my ca. 1924 Colonial Revival interior. Couldn't be more thrilled.

Not much. My “solid wood” clock has a plastic topper that broke when I tried to install it. The clock overall is not a $400+ clock, more a $99 online special.

The lamp is pretty and nice. The rod to hold the lamp shade was too long, not allowing the shade to cover the bulbs, resulting in a blinding light. I purchased a 3” lamp all thread rod to lower the shade. Now it is pleasant. For a 300 lamp, the shade should cover the bulbs. Once I re-engineered it it is a nice lamp.

Nice clock! Really pleased with time keeping and the chiming. Delivered in a very secured package.
