Mark Fraley, born in Kansas City, MO, in 1977, spent his childhood in France as a Christian missionary kid. A self-taught artist, he developed a strong interest in conveying hope through collage after battling cancer twice, first in 2008 and again in 2010. His work is deeply inspired by family life, his role as an early childhood special education teacher, and the simple joys of childhood, which helped sustain his spirit during challenging times.
