Ears plugged with wax to evade the beckoning song of the sirens, sailors watch their captain, Ulysses, tied to the mast in this threateningly nightmarish scene from Homer. Combining romance and realism with characteristic Waterhouse mastery, the work paints a powerful portrait of triumph over all odds. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. The replica 4.375" wide, European style, bright gold-toned, ribbed frame is cast in quality designer resin with an acanthus leaf and floret border that draws the eye toward the beautiful image. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding.
