Beautiful specimen from Piedra Parada, Las Vigas de Ramirez, Veracruz, Mexico. Many lustrous purple amethyst quartz crystals are scattered over a large matrix. The amethyst quartz crystals have intense purple color at the terminations and are nearly colorless at their bases. The crystals are fully terminated with lustrous glassy faces with several crystals having double terminations.
