Two of the most iconic landmarks in Danish design history have teamed up to celebrate the smiling lines and happy stripes they have each contributed to Danish design. The famous Kay Bojesen monkey was created back in 1951, when Kay Bojesen wanted to make a children's level hanger to support his kids in reaching their clothes. Instead, he ended up making a world-famous Danish design icon. Now the iconic monkey itself has put on some clothes, and what matches a Danish design icon better than another Danish design icon? Kay Bojesen monkey x Norgaard paa Stroget in this large size is made of FSC certified teak and limba, measuring 47 cm in height. You can get the monkey with the nice painted Norgaard paa Stroget #101 T-shirt in either this black with white stripes or white with black stripes. Both colour variants have the well-known red neckline, which you only find on #101 T-shirts in the exclusive Norgaard paa Stroget version in the store on Amagertorv in Copenhagen. Kay Bojesen is synonymous with original Danish sculpting and design. The collaboration with Mads Norgaard ties together the love for durable and long-lasting products, while adding exactly the playfulness and curiosity that Kay Bojesen himself loved to add to his designs to drive forward the imagination and create original stories made of wood. The iconic monkey in new clothes is a fun and straightforward celebration of both design icons, where with a twinkle in the eye we collectively pay tribute to the humour and the smiling lines with colours and stripes that runs like a red thread back and forth through Danish design history. Variations may occur in the stripes, but that is only because each monkey has its own unique personality. This is because the stripes are carefully applied to each monkey x Norgaard pa Stroget through a handheld process.

Let the adventure live on through original wooden stories. In 2021, when the H.C. Andersens Hus museum opened in Odense, the museum and Kay Bojesen Denmark began a collaboration, to make it now possible to find some of the most famous and loved figures from the world-famous fairy tales interpreted in Kay Bojesen's universe of original stories in wood. The Nightengale, The Shepherdess and the Chimney Sweep and The Sandman were the first to move onto the shelves of the museum store in Odense—and of course also of your local design store. The Little Match Girl has also found her way into the warmth. In Kay Bojesen's interpretation, she wears a hood that goes down over her shoulders. The little girl has patches on her dress and apron, which are kept in toned-down colors, emphasizing that she comes from poverty. Her warm smile and gentle, innocent expressions are born of the beautiful experiences she envisions while gazing in the firelight, when on a cold New Year's Eve her imagination awakens with fantastic dreamscapes filled with joy and security. In her hand, she holds a matchstick that completes the story. The Little Match Girl measures 5.7" in height and is turned in FSC-certified beech wood, and the manual production with paint and printing is carried out with the great precision and care that characterize Kay Bojesen's wooden figures. The shape is based on the original Lise figure from Kay Bojesen's archive, which is simple and minimalistic, but full of life and soul. This gives the Little Match Girl a feeling of magic and adventure that is in line with Kay Bojesen's spirit and the storytelling he managed to create in designing his imaginative figures.

At that time, they stood guard as one meter tall soldiers outside Kay Bojesen's shop in Bredgade. Two of the most iconic milestones in Danish design history have joined forces to celebrate the smiling lines and cheerful stripes each of them has contributed to Danish design. The famous Kay Bojesen monkey was created back in 1951 when Kay Bojesen wanted to make a coat hook at child's height so his children could reach their clothes. Instead, he ended up making a world-renowned Danish design icon. Now the iconic monkey has got its own set of clothes. And what better suits a Danish design icon than another Danish design icon? The small Kay Bojesen monkey x Norgaard paa Stroget is made from FSC certified teak and limba, measuring 18.5 cm in height. You can get monkey with the beautiful painted Norgaard on Stroget #101 T-shirt in either this white with black stripes or black with white stripes. Both colours feature the well-known red neckline, which you can only find on #101 T-shirts in this exclusive Norgaard paa Stroget version in the store on Amagertorv in Copenhagen. Kay Bojesen is synonymous with original Danish design. And the collaboration with Mads Norgaard unites the love of durable and long-lasting products, while adding the playfulness and quirky quality that Kay Bojesen loved to add to his designs to spark the imagination and create original stories made of wood. The iconic monkey in new clothes is a fun and unpretentious celebration of both design icons, where with a twinkle in the eye we come together to pay tribute to the humour and smiling lines with colours and stripes that go far back in Danish design history. Variations may occur in the stripes, but that is only because each monkey has its own unique personality. This is because the stripes are carefully applied to each monkey x Norgaard pa Stroget through a handheld process.

A smiley beak for 70 years. With its brightly colored beak and friendly expression, the puffin is a bird you love at first sight. It's almost too cute to be true, and it's easy to understand why Kay Bojesen was inspired by the charming bird from the cold north when he created his famous and beloved Puffin back in 1954. Of course, the 70th anniversary should be properly celebrated with an anniversary edition produced only in 2024 and a new mini-size that is even more charming, if possible. The little Puffin is 5.3" tall and is made from FSC-certified beech wood, which has been painted with great precision and care to give the body, beak and eyes the authentic, fine and friendly look for which the Puffin is known.
