Kontur is a wood rod wrapped in a high density laminate with an aluminum channel inserted to provide a high efficiency traverse system. The laminate prevents the wood from warping and is scratch resistant, as well as dye lot consistent. You can now order multiple rods and they will all be the same color! These rods are really nice and look great. The 4 rather than a 5 is because the the finial is part of the track so the draperies don't stop at the end of the rod but go all the way to the end of the finial. Love everything about this curtain rod. I've used it many times, both in clients homes and my own home. Love that it has the metal rod inside the rod to keep it from sagging in the middle. I am very happy with this curtain rod. It is really pretty, nice quality, and it was easy to install. We did use different wall anchors because the anchors provided were quite small for such a large rod. Otherwise, I would recommend and will probably purchase another one for our bedroom.. Patricia.
