MUCH darker than in the pictures. As in, the background is as dark as the medallions are on the website and the medallions are charcoal. I have the king set and simply cannot use all of it at once, but I like the overall look for a wine country Greige primary bedroom in a rental, and the price was right on sale. one zipper was poorly installed on one throw pillow so I hand stitched it shut- would have been a problem on a real pillow case.
