This tile arrived and a box was full of broken tiles. I contacted Wayfair and they sent out more tiles right away and enough unbroken tiles for our project. The tile are really nice quality and will work perfectly for us. A box or two were not packaged well enough to overcome the shipping process. This was better in the final boxes shipped.. Mary. Based on the Catalan vaults he created the Guastavino tile, a "Tile Arch System" patented in the United States in 1885 and used for constructing robust, self-supporting arches and architectural vaults using interlocking terracotta tiles and layers of mortar. Guastavino tile is found in some of New York's most prominent Beaux-Arts landmarks and in major buildings across the United States. It is used in a huge number of architecturally important and famous buildings with vaulted spaces. Guastavino was not the principal architect for most of the projects.

I absolutely love the rich color of these tiles and the sea glass like finish. The blue is not quite as bright in person, but it’s still pretty. They came well packed and separated for shipping but there still appears to be some scratches on them. I think that might just be a an unfortunate thing that goes along with this kind of finish. It does not hide any imperfections like a glossy finish does. I think it would also show soap scum and residue, especially in the darker Colors. These are beautiful!!! Worth every penny. The full box doesn’t always have 4 of a pattern so if you are trying to have blocked patterns then you must get multiple boxes. All tiles were in tact.
