We were Inspired by Guastavino's exquisite tile arch when we create our Guastavino tile Collection; Guastavino was a Spanish architect and builder. Based on the Catalan vaults he created the Guastavino tile, a "Tile Arch System" patented in the United States in 1885 and used for constructing robust, self-supporting arches and architectural vaults using interlocking terracotta tiles and layers of mortar. Guastavino tile is found in some of New York's most prominent Beaux-Arts landmarks and in major buildings across the United States. It is used in a huge number of architecturally important and famous buildings with vaulted spaces. Guastavino was not the principal architect for most of the projects.

The shade ranges and colors are beautiful. I love the white base that incorporates several shades of grey. The photos are one of each color and from the same box. I hope it shows the various colors and shades of each. They are simply stunning and elegant and I love the matte finish. I was afraid I wouldn’t like that, but I do! The Alisa Cloud White 3x12 Polished Subway Glass Tile features cloud-like swirls within a semi-translucent, milky white tile. A glossy, high-shine finish adds a sense of depth and movement, while natural variations give Alisa its artisanal appearance. This tile’s long and slender (yet classic) format and contemporary colorway combine for a modern take on an iconic look. Rich, swirling color and a high-shine, reflective surface give the Alisa collection of elongated glass subway tiles its eye-catching beauty. This unique collection highlights the natural differences in tiles made of glass. Designed for wall use only, Alisa adds depth to any space without overpowering it and is especially suited to backsplashes, kitchen islands, and bars. Working with molten glass requires precise temperature control and in the case of the Alisa collection, an appreciation of rich, saturated colors. The pigment is added to the glass while in its melted state, creating stunning swirls. The result is a one-of-a-kind, pearlized glass tile that is both beautiful in the home and kind to our planet. Because glass is 100 percent and endlessly recyclable, it benefits everyone: Consumers, manufacturers, and the environment.

The Emery selenium red handmade crackled terracotta subway tile is a testament to the beauty of tradition. These subway tiles are made with centuries-old techniques. They're handmade and twice-fired in a wood-burning kiln. Emery's rich, bold red color and beautifully uneven surface can only be achieved through its genuine handmade production process. Investing in these tiles brings not just beauty into your home, but also a first-rate example of fine craftsmanship. The handcrafted tiles of the Emery collection are made with deliberately slow production techniques with each tile taking more than 30 days from start to finish. The patience of these ceramics masters yields brilliant colors and artisanal surfaces. Made sustainably in Italy, this collection features subway formats, allowing you to mix and match for endless pattern and palette possibilities. The master ceramicists who create the Emery collection use a time-honored and exacting method that has been passed down for generations. The process begins with high-quality rock clay. Once purified, it is pressed into wooden molds and left to air dry for several weeks. Once dry, the clay is fired in a wood-burning kiln for 36 hours, hand-glazed, and fired again for 20 more hours.

Absolutely stunning. I was concerned about ordering this with no reviews, especially since it is expensive. The way each tile catches the light is amazing. No regrets! It's prettier in person than it shows in the pictures.. Shawna. Silver City, NM. Wed Mar 03 2021
