An overflow is a small hole in the back of the sink that prevents the sink from overflowing. When the sink is full of water, this hole allows air to circulate to the drain so the water can drain more quickly.

It’s a beauty. Heavier than I thought. Although, it had 2 small imperfections 1. It came with a mark at first I thought it was a marker but it didn’t come out. 2. The hole is not centered is slightly crooked. However, they are not significant enough to cause me to return sink.

Looks nice at first, but the sink is hard to keep clean as the bottom is too flat, so dirt, soap and shaving clippings accumulates at the sides and corners with pretty much every use unless you clean the sink with a cloth every time you use it. The little "chrome" covered plastic bezel at the over flow corroded green/block and pieces of the finish have flaked off showing plastic beneath. The two double ended lag bolts that came with the sink were too short and too thin to hold the sink securely and pulled right out of the wall stud. Ended up buying some 1/2" lag bolts. Looks 8/10, Function 3/10, Fixings 0/10, Durability 1/10 Don't recommend.

Works great! Installed in a restaurant washroom and is exactly as the designer and customer wanted :)

If you are installing a vessel faucet with your vessel sink, you should install the faucet first. Once the faucet is installed, position the sink on the countertop. Then, use the sink mounting ring and hardware to hold and secure the sink to the countertop (make sure someone is helping you!). Lastly, connect the drain from the inside of the sink and then connect the p-trap to the bottom of the drain.
