We used these tiles in a bathroom because they are slightly rough, nonslip, nonabsorbent and tough. We cut them in half so they appear to match an existing tile/brick outside of the bathroom. You do have to be careful when cutting the ends they are somewhat brittle and can chip. Once I got they hang of it I no longer chipped them but it was a bit of a hassle.
