Hydro Systems was moved by the all-important vision of The National Center for Civil and Human Rights and its visual expression of harmony. Incorporating the graceful form of the architecture which inspired it, the Marquis bathtub mirrors the artful curves of the building in the refined simplicity of its sloped shape. The Marquis balances exquisite symmetry with the unexpected, as the ever-so-slight lilt to its rim adds interest and draws the eye. Shaped to resemble cupped hands that cradle you as you relax and reflect, the Marquis defines design excellence. The NCCHR is a museum of experiences rather than objects. Envisioned by architect Philip Freelon, the institution honors Atlanta’s civil rights achievements and encourages visitors to connect the history of America to the broader global human rights movements of today. The exterior is composed of two curved walls, which resemble interlocking arms, cradling the building’s glass-paneled central core. A shining example of how beautiful design can inspire and represent the values of the community it serves, the architecture of the NCCHR conveys the ideals of unity and equality for all.
