The sample seems light but when you put a wall of them up it gets a little darker. My carpenter Dad has his complaints about the corners and lining it up, but we're happy so far. The pictures doesn't show the final product with the grout so it might lighten with our grey grout

good towel color is as described easy to work with can tell its quality would definitely buy again.
