The colorful adaptation of a classic Indian chintz resembles linen printed fabric with exotic flowers and fauna. Catherine of Braganza, queen of King Charles II of England, brought Portuguese trade routes to the British East India Company, spurring fascination with such Asian goods and fabrics.

"Road to Canton" is a gloriously fun interpretive pattern celebrating a journey through the countryside. Dogs, Asian pagodas, Ginko trees, and a boat ride down the river all join together in a whimsical pattern painted by John Loecke of Madcap Cottage. We offer two versions of the light-colored pattern in porcelain, and on our Delfern Bench in coral and celadon fabrics. Canton is a narrow jar rectangle-shaped lamp with a rectangle lucite base. Accented with aged brass hardware and crystal ball finial.

Gorgeous! I love it and it looks great in my sunroom. It is a showstopper. Rebecca. Miami, FL. Sun Oct 04 2026

I think the lamp and shade are a good quality for the price. The color was as expected from the photos and I appreciate all the measurements provided in the drawing. This paired well with the Agean lamp I purchased from the same vendor.. Taylor. Atlanta, GA. Sat Apr 20 2024

This enchanting Porcelain Lamp is decorated with delicate Japanese cherry blossoms and a rich cobalt glaze. The floral design has been hand sculpted and glazed in white and subtle pastel blues. Set against a rich, dark ultramarine background, this floral design stands out vividly. Perfect for bringing color into a room or bringing out the hues already present, this lovely lamp is a chic and stylish addition to any decor.

A great pair of lamps, just right hight for bedside tables, nice bright blue porcelain base and elegant bell shaped shades, almost perfect-fit to my liking. Only negative points to the product are that the cherry blossom pattern is not a subtle, artistic and authentic Japanese design I was looking for and expecting, and the metal harps are very rigid, very stiff and I had a much difficulty fitting into the slots, and was afraid the small pieces of fitters might break open from the forceful bending of the harps..
