This beautiful screen is hand-painted, hand-lacquered and made of heavy, durable Elm wood. It depicts a typical Ching Ming Festival using the 18th century Asian style of raised Chinoiserie. Ching Ming Festival, also known as ''Grave-sweeping Day'', is a national holiday in China to celebrate ancestors. Japan and Korea both have holidays very similar to the Ching Ming Festival.

This imported Oriental shoe cabinet was lovingly handmade in an artisan's collective in Guangdong. The edges have been carved and lacquered in a subtle bamboo pattern, while the sides, front, and top are finished in a rich, black lacquer. These black panels have been individually hand painted with traditional Chinese landscapes, and each cabinet is a truly unique piece unlike any other.
