The Butterfly Ginkgo collection celebrates the representation of flora as fauna. Michael's fascination with a particular type of ginkgo tree, the Ginkgo Biloba, or "Butterfly Ginkgo", which grows with a double leaf reminiscent of a butterfly's wings, gave rise to a fantasia image of the plant. Executed at the highest level of handcraftsmanship, each piece is rendered in solid brass with hand-etched cocoon-shaped vessels. The pieces in the collection are a tour de force of the handcrafted process, capturing the poetic spirit that is so deeply indicative of Michael's work. The first time I saw this tree, it looked like it had been completely overtaken by butterflies... as if they would all take flight the moment I walked too close or made a noise. The idea that the leaves could evoke the beauty of butterflies was magical to me, like trees that can metamorphose from flora to fauna in the blink of an eye.

Some kitchen implements are just too wonderful to put away in a drawer! That's the story of our tool jug, which gives you a fabulous set of sure-to-be-loved kitchen items, strikingly carved from natural wood, along with a fanciful display jug of our signature alloy. This unique set coyly echoes a flower vase full of beauties from the garden. Add in other colorful implements for an even brighter gourmet bouquet, or let the grain of the wood speak for itself against the mirror polish alloy. Designed by: Steve Cozzolino, 2011

This cruet is gorgeous! It is heavy and perfect for all my spoons. My artsy friend noticed it immediately and had huge compliments. The only slight negative is that I have a gray blue kitchen, and this has a slight pink/purple tone.. Cheryl. Houston, TX. Wed Jul 17 2024

Beloved for its sophisticated simplicity, versatility, and durability, Lastra is our bestselling collection. The understated elegance, clean lines, and unique shape of the Lastra utensil holder make it a timeless choice for your kitchen. Lastra’s design was inspired by the circular wooden slabs used for centuries to create the outer mold in cheesemaking throughout Italy. When fashioned together with twine, the hoop was left with a slight overlap to help maintain the shape of the cheese mold. Maestro molder Stefano Roselli incorporates the overlapping detail into the entire design, from its foot to its rim. A dark dusting on the edges of each piece suggests the ash that was used to preserve these cheeses and highlights each unique silhouette.
