Jacques Pilon's career as art director for Shelter and Architectural magazines in Toronto honed his artistic and decorative eye. Exploring two-dimensional spacial relationships with form and colour has always been his main interest. Julia Balfour is an abstract painter who uses form as a trace of her experiences that are influenced by color. Her abstract paintings reflect her view on the importance of colour in its most elegant and purest form. She uses watercolor to develop layers and relies on color to construct its own shape and find its place in a composition.
