The lamp serves the purpose well for which it was purchased. It really brightens a dark room. There should be a note to install the lampshade upside down. Typically, you would put the lampshade on with the inner cross-pieces on the upper side of the shade. If you do that on this one, the light bulb sticks out above the shade.
