Based on an original Asmara painting by Elizabeth Moisan, an admirer of the great 18th-century English textile artist Ana Maria Garthwaite. The colors are inspired by early 20th century English botanical paintings. Wedgewood blue, violet, butter-yellow, and garnet flowers branch out to make a trellis on a pale yellow ground. Combining ancient Savonnerie dyeing and weaving methods with a loop weave invented by Asmara, this cut and loop pile rug has subtle shade and texture variations reminiscent of the best antique rugs. Also available as an Aubusson rug and as a Needlepoint rug. Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA. Green manufacturing methods are used.

Delivery came on the expected date. The area rug is beautiful, looks and feel well-made. Definitely needs daily vacuuming for a while to remove loose fibers to avoid them getting all over the hardwood floor.. Deena. Millbrae, CA. Wed Oct 08 2025

Based on an original Asmara painting by Elizabeth Moisan inspired by Suzani embroideries and Bessarabian rugs. The result is a Suzani pattern rendered in the style of 19th century Bessarabian rugs made for the Russian aristocracy. Pomegranate-shaped palmettos nestle inside grape leaf vines. By dyeing five types of wool with ancient French methods, this hand-made Bessarabian flat weave rug has thousands of subtle variations in colors and texture similar to antique Bessarabian rugs. Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA. Green manufacturing methods are used.

This Oriental area rug brings a classic, grounded look to your main bedroom or living space. It's hand-woven from wool, offering a thick pile that feels soft underfoot while standing up to high-traffic areas. The design features a detailed border and a center medallion, creating a centered focal point for your furniture arrangement. It's designed with a cotton backing to help maintain its shape over time. Plus, the natural fibers provide a cozy layer of insulation for your floors. We recommend pairing this piece with a rug pad to prevent slipping.
