The item is based on the classic 18th-century authentic French designs, that the name Savonnerie is world-famous for. These hand woven rugs recreate the European feel and style of a bygone elegant era.

An introduction to master rug weaving from India. These designs are revivals of Agra patterns from the oriental Mughal period. What distinguishes these hand-knotted Agra patterns, are the large floral palmettes. The new innovation of this rug collection is the texture and colors. The antique effect in these rugs is achieved with a combination of the finest quality spun wool together with a simple soap wash and new contemporary colors. The wool is from a mixture of native Indian wool and New Zealand wool. The wool in these rugs retains its natural lanolin, which one can feel by hand, in the pile.

Classic patterns fashionably updated for both traditional and transitional décor. Each hand-tufted design is made of a special combination of wool and silkette where silkette yarns have been interspersed throughout each rug for unique special effects.
