Drawing inspiration from the alligator, the organic animal trellis pattern shimmers as the light hits the silk. The background is Tibetan wool that has been hand-spun and hand-carded in a gray-blue color and the design motifs are silver Chinese silk and bone-accented areas in a three-ply blend of Tibetan wool, Chinese silk, and natural nettle fibers to create added texture and depth. This piece has been crafted by hand in our true 100-knot quality.

The graphic patterning of reptile skins is abstracted and softened in the geometric dot motif of Amazon. Tibetan weavers hand-knotted a special blend of silk and wool creating a subtle design cut-and-loop pile for this sophisticated area rug.

Fresh, spirited, and above all, luxurious, the rugs of the Matterson collection can invigorate a traditional room as gracefully as they can ground a more contemporary space. Regardless of their color and style, there is just one thing about these rugs that is not modern. Each is painstakingly handcrafted by artisans using time-honored techniques.
