An original design Etchings & Roses has been elegantly repainted and coloured in a botanical illustration style. Featuring rare and beautifully engraved prints from Mulhouse faithfully reproduced and including miniature insects scattered throughout the design Cupid`s Beau is elevated to the next level of contemporary design with Giles`s illustrative bows and calligraphy including his signature `G`. Each colorway creates an enchanting contrast between the botanical and background the antique origins of the print are maintained while also made sublimely new. From his renowned walnut ink illustration Mydsommer Pickings is a direct translation of Giles`s botanical drawings depicting embroidered pomegranates and poppyheads on a linen ground. The pattern is repeated to create an all-over design and encompasses a plethora of stitching techniques layered to intensify the depth and luxury of this embroidered fabric. An apothecary of medieval delights appears in this curling tendril design which unfurls before your eyes. Referencing historic hand embroidery the linen base enhances the lavish stitching which is free-flowing and organic yet dramatic in equal measure and loosely based on drawings of Chelsea Physic Garden.

In a celebration of the sartorial stripe together with the frivolity of the sawtooth Giles's design for Regency Aperigon takes the Ancient Greek meaning of the name 'Apeirogon' 'infinite polygon' and runs with it in vertical form. This design expresses a love for infinite possibilities in design and plays on the classic Sanderson stripes respecting the classical resonance of stripes in interiors and rediscovering its power through Ancient Greek geometry. Tightly woven with a satin sheen to heighten its elegance Regency Aperigon is a narrow stripe reminiscent of silk yet perfectly suited to upholstery.

A signature of Giles Deacon, the Aperigon stripe comes to life in wallpaper. Bold and exaggerated, this large-scale stripe is refined and finds comfort in an ethereal palette. A celebration of the sartorial stripe, together with the frivolity of the sawtooth, Giles's design for Aperigon Parade takes the Ancient Greek meaning of the name 'Apeirogon' 'infinite polygon' and runs with it, in vertical form. This design expresses a love for infinite possibilities in design and plays on the classic Sanderson stripes with a twist, rediscovering its power through Ancient Greek geometry.

Referencing an archive document fringed tulip toile is reimagined as a distressed batik style print. Double-headed parrot tulips and roses appear in weathered form aged yet still beautiful antiqued yet grandiose. This textured stripped-back design mimics the technique of extract printing. This special block printing process removes color to create a lightened effect almost bleached to reveal the design in a new light and printed on a linen union for upholstery use.

Treillage has been created by combining two naturalistic nineteenth-century patterns held in our archive. A flowering trellis design with undulating branches and flowers provides a classic structure. Then a selection of exquisitely detailed Victorian botanical representations from another design in the archive were interspersed within the trellis pattern giving way to a design that is `classicism recontexturalised` in the words of Giles. The Victorians were fascinated by nature's natural history and discoveries of flora and fauna.
